Stayed for one night as I needed to stay in Chelmsford. The bed was really comfy and place was quiet. Staff really friendly too

I did nearly drive past the hotel, and when I pulled in I did initially panic. Its clear there is refurbishment happening and near where the parking is looks like a building site! However, when i went in the staff were so lovely and accommodating. When asking for can numbers, they booked one for me then let me know when it had arrived. They showed me personally to my room, and it was lovely. Clearly newly renovated and super spacious. There were a few little snagging bits that needed doing but ultimately it was a large, clean and very comfortable room and bathroom. I'd definitely stay again.

Good value for money. I think this place closed down for a while and is now under new management. No frills kind of feel, bar and restaurant are not currently open but that wasn't a problem for me as I don't mind getting a takeaway. Whilst the buildings look a bit run down from the outside, the rooms are clean and tidy and the beds comfortable. The en-suite bathrooms in the external buildings seem to have been renovated to a good standard recently with nice tiling and good showers and are very pleasant as a result. Staff are friendly and welcoming.
